117th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The 117th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade is a combat unit of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, operating under the 10th Army Corps. The brigade was formed at the end of 2022, with January 31, 2023 officially recognized as its founding date.

From its very first days, the brigade has become a symbol of resilience, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the defense of Ukraine.

Combat Journey

Following its formation and combat coordination at the Rivne Combined Arms Training Ground, the brigade was redeployed to the Dnipropetrovsk region.
In June 2023, units of the 117th Brigade launched offensive operations in the Orikhiv area of the Zaporizhzhia region. The offensive resulted in a breakthrough of two enemy defensive lines along the Tokmak–Melitopol axis and the liberation of the settlements of Mala Tokmachka, Novoprokopivka, Robotyne, and Novodanylivka.

Since the spring of 2024, the brigade has held defensive positions along this sector of the front, demonstrating a high level of readiness and cohesion. In August 2024, the brigade took part in combat operations in the Pokrovsk direction, where it continues to carry out combat missions to this day.
